Calabogie and Area Business Association (CABA)
Located at the south-eastern reaches of the Madawaska Highlands, bordering
the heart of the Ottawa Valley, Calabogie and the surrounding villages
in the Township of Greater Madawaska have become a retirement haven and
a four-season tourist destination for those who have been lucky enough
to have discovered it.
The businesses, which have grown with the influx of new (permanent and seasonal) residents and an ever increasing number of holidaying visitors, are represented by CABA. The primary product of these member businesses is, in many respects, the beautiful rural setting that they all share.

The area is characterized by a picturesque, rugged landscape with well
forested hills and many interspersed small lakes. The major watershed is
defined by the Madawaska River, which links lakes such as Centennial, Black
Donald and Calabogie Lakes and collects water from hundreds of smaller
lakes and rivers. The forest is a mixture of mostly middle-aged conifer
and deciduous trees, having regenerated following the cutting and fires
of the late 1800s to early 1900s.
