Artist Dwyene MacNabb's studio
features and extensive collection of spectacular artwork, including outdoor
scenes, country vistas, and a beautiful medley of flowers.
Dwyene MacNabb has been using oil
and various other forms of media to create these delightful images since
her teenage years in Ottawa, Ontario. She began her formal artistic training
in Montreal in 1968, where she studied with the Dutch artist Gerald Van
Dykhof for
two years. Dwyene MacNabb studied palette knife painting
with the well know Canadian artist Walter Pranke in 1972, and she became
captivated with this style of painting.
During 1976 and 1977 she studied water colors with Manual Ruiz of Montreal. While in Montreal, Dwyene displayed her work in various art shows and galleries.
When she moved to Toronto, Ontario,
she took water color workshops with other local
artists Jack Reid,
Edwin Matthews and Zoltan Szabo. She continued to develop her oil painting
skills by attending a number of workshops with artists such as Poul Thrane,
Mary Lampman and Mitch Keirstead.
Dwyene taught oil painting classes
at Visual Arts Mississauga, Ontario for over 10 years, as well as holding
oil painting workshops for various organizations throughout
Ontario.
Since retiring with her husband to Calabogie, Ontario in 1996, Dwyene has started giving monthly workshops again.
Dwyene also paints many local scenes in acrylics as well as pastels. These along with her paintings can be seen at her studio on Calabogie Lake.
